Complicated brains in a complicated world

You've been trying to
work it all out
alone.

You don’t have to.

I listen to the whole story first. Not the paperwork, not what the last professional said. Then we work out what’s driving things, what the system will and won’t do, and what to do first.
— Claire Windmill -Independent Specialist

I help families navigating complex needs cut through the noise, understand what's actually driving things, and work out what to do first. One conversation. The whole story. A written plan. Real clarity.

If this is you

The professionals keep seeing
their slice of things.
Nobody is holding
the whole picture.

  • You've been passed from service to service and nobody seems to talk to each other.

  • You know something is being missed, but you don't have the language to name it.

  • You're exhausted from having to repeat your story at every appointment, from scratch.

  • You've been told it's anxiety, or parenting, or just how things are — and it doesn't feel true.

  • You've hit a wall with the NHS, the school, or social care, and you don't know what to ask for or in what order.

  • You're holding everything together and you're running out of capacity to keep going.

The gap isn't always a lack of services. It's a lack of someone who understands the whole picture, knows how to navigate the system strategically, and can help you see what to do next.

One conversation.
A written plan.
Genuine clarity.

This is a holistic assessment and planning session. First we talk. About you, about your family, about what’s really going on. Not just the presenting problem, but the full picture.

Only then do I review documents, read reports. What the professionals have said is the secondary part of the story.

Afterwards, you receive a written action plan: what's driving things, what the system can and can't offer, and what to do first.

I bring 20 years of experience across social work, CAMHS, adoption support, early years, and complex needs advocacy. I also bring lived experience, as a neurodivergent woman and a home educating parent. I know these systems from the inside, and I've chosen to sit with families rather than write reports about them.

What's included

  • A one-to-one conversation — unhurried, whole-picture, no tick-boxes

  • Document review

  • A written action plan afterwards, in plain language

  • Clarity on what's driving things and what's realistically available to you

  • A prioritised sequence of next steps, so you know what to do first

Why Me

The training of a social worker. The experience of a mother.

I have a BSc in Psychology and Neuroscience, a PGDip in Social Work, and a PGDip in Early Years Teaching. I've worked across CAMHS, adoption support, infant mental health, family support, education, disability and complex needs advocacy.

I understand the challenge when neurodivergence, mental health conditions and chronic illness overlap, creating complexity that the systems can’t manage.

I have seen from the inside how the systems that are supposed to support people with those conditions fail them, constantly.

I'm also a late-identified neurodivergent woman and a home educating parent. I know what it feels like to navigate services that weren't designed for you, while holding everyone else together.

That combination, my professional knowledge and my lived experience, is how I know what to do. And I can help you do it too.

"Sometimes the first job isn't building. It's dismantling — working out what's been put in the wrong place before anything useful can be built."
